Turtle Bay

Commonly referred to as “Turtle Bay Mexico” Akumal has an abundance of turtles. You may be wondering “why are there so many turtles in Akumal”. Firstly Akumal has an abundance of sea grass which attracts a large number of green and loggerhead turtles who come to feed. Secondly the area is a popular nesting site for a number of turtle species. The nesting season runs between May and September when large numbers of  turtles climb the sands of Akumal beach to lay eggs.

After the turtle snorkeling portion of the tour is over it is time to head into the jungle for the cenote tour. We will journey deep into the subtropical rainforest of the Yucatan to relax, swim, and snorkel in the crystal clear fresh waters of a massive “cenote”. Swim in the pristine waters and marvel at the ancient stalagmites and exotic wildlife that surround you.
